The Cultural Department of the Municipality of Argostoli invites you to a cherished Holy Thursday tradition!
On Thursday, April 17, we invite all of you to join us at Kampana Square for the traditional painting of the “Botides”, the large clay pots that will be smashed on Holy Saturday, as part of Ionian Islands unique Easter custom.
Let’s keep our local tradition alive by coming together to decorate the Botides with color and creativity!
🎨 Painting begins at 11:00 a.m.
Children will participate in groups according to their age and will be guided by local artist Marina Stellatou, creating beautiful and unique designs.
🕘 Schedule by age group:
Ages Preschool to 2nd Grade: 11:00 – 12:00
Ages 3rd Grade to Teenagers: 12:00 – 13:30
To ensure the smooth running of the event, we kindly inform you that children will be painting at specially arranged and properly prepared stations within the square.
Let’s celebrate together, painting and smashing the Botides, just like every year!
