Horgota Beach

Chorgota beach is one of the most famous in Kefalonia, as it was featured in the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” given the name “Pelagia Beach”. The beach was included in the film’s poster as well as the opening scene.

Chorgota beach is located on the route from Komitata to Agia Sofia. The road is quite easy, but in the end you’ll have to drive on an unpaved road for less than a mile.

It’s not an organized beach so you should bring umbrellas and beverages with you. Chorgota beach features pebble-paved landscape and clean azure waters. The view of Ithaca from the shore is spectacular.
