Spartia

Spartia, southwest of Argostoli, has authentic Greece written everywhere. The narrow streets are full of rustic houses surrounded by lovely gardens full of flowers, the main church is located in a small central square and there are some traditional taverns. A preserved road with authentic old houses and ruins allows the nostalgic view of the “old” Kefalonia. It is the place where you can really set your clock to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet. It is only a few minutes drive from the village center to the coast – although many visitors enjoy walking down the village through the lush countryside. Here, there is a duo of windless beaches on either side of a small fishing village. The sandy beach is ideal for children, while the rocky spot and the ledges and clear waters create an ideal area for snorkeling. Kayaking is popular in this area as the coastline is untouched and dramatic. The restaurant overlooking the beach is ideal for lunch accompanied by beautiful sea views. The wider area has many wonderful beaches with very clear waters. The capital Argostoli and the airport are a short drive away.
