The Roman cemetery of Fiscardo was discovered by coincidence and dates from the 2nd (BC) to the 4th century (AD). Excavations discovered a vast graveyard with two rectangular portions and 27 graves.
The architecture of the tombs varies greatly, and items like pottery and glass vases, jewelry, metal artifacts, and money have been discovered inside them.
Excavated nearby was a very well-reserved theater complete with stone backrests.
Other excavations have unearthed Roman-era remnants of homes and a bath complex, which date from the Roman period (146 B.C. to 330 A.D.).
