Kalligata village

Kalligata is a small village with narrow alleys and old houses located in the area of Livathos, south of Argostoli and a short distance from the airport. The church of the 18th century with its impressive bell tower is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. There are no shops or restaurants there, however from the village you have stunning sea views. The surrounding area is green with olive groves and cypress trees.

Svoronata and Kourkoumelata are neighboring villages.

The many beaches and coves that can be visited there make the area an ideal resort with the majestic mountain range of Ainos extending northeast, which is its natural boundary. While the castle of Agios Georgios, a memory of centuries of Venetian rule on the island, dominates at a lower level.

Nearby are the popular sandy beaches of Ammes, Abythos and Ai Helis.
