Kefalonia is a fairly large island, full of amazing landscapes and scattered attractions all around. If you want to lose as little as possible, let us explore Kefalonia divided into regions, starting our campaign from the city of Argostoli.
It is a beautiful, sunny morning! Start from the central square of Argostoli and walk to the Cobbled commercial pedestrian street. Here you will find traditional products, souvenirs and many cafes. You can visit the orthodox church of Agios Spyridon, the church of Agios Nikolaos, which is the only catholic church in Kefalonia and at the end of the sidewalk you should definitely enter the Clock Tower in Kampana Square, which offers a wonderful panoramic view of the city.
Continue your tour with a visit to the Archaeological Museum, located directly opposite the Municipal Theater of Kefalos, and the Historical and Folklore Museum. Return to the main square and walk to the other side, along the road with palm trees. You will meet the Kosmetatou House, a beautiful mansion that survived the catastrophic earthquake of 1953.
It is noon and the temperature has risen! At a short distance by car or bus, cool off in the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea in the area of Lassi, full of sandy beaches for all tastes. Choose Makry Gialos if you are interested in water sports and beach bars full of life, Platys Gialos, if you are looking for a family organized beach, or any unorganized beach along the coastline, they are all clean and sandy.
From Lassi, return to Argostoli by the coastal road. During your journey, enjoy the beautiful view to the sea and do not forget to visit the Lantern of Agios Theodoros, the Monument of the Fallen of the Acqui Division and the area in Katavothres with Thalassomylos, where a rare geological phenomenon occurs.
